Press the Reset Button

Reset and move forward in 2021

Last year was full of adjustments, maneuvering and challenges.  For many systems were changed and the way of the “norm” was no more.  How are you adjusting to the “new norm”?  In the beginning of this new year, we have learned several things from 2020.  It is now time to press the RESET button, regather yourself, expect NEW opportunities and establish a plan to go after them.  Below are a few ways that you can RESET and have a better 2021.

  1. Start your ultimate plan for the week on Sunday (leave room for flexibility, we learned that in 2020; anything can happen).
  2. Prioritize your day – I know you have 100 + things on your today list, but something must be done first. Some things will not get done at all. What needs your absolute attention today?

  3. Put your mental and physical health first – This is one that we often think shouldn’t need to be said; however so often, we find ourselves going, going, going, doing and doing that we neglect to take care of ourselves.  Getting the proper amount of rest, and exercise plays a role in not only our physical health, but even our mental health.

  4. Consistently create content – If you’ve followed us for any amount of time, you’ll notice that we’ve often mentioned consistent content and that “Content is King”  see our blog here.  One of the best ways to get notice on social media and drive traffic to your website is creating fresh content.  If you didn’t do it last year, sit down and create a plan for content this year.

  5. Evaluate prices and see if it is still competitive – With an ever changing economy and inflation,  some of our prices are no longer competitive.  Review your prices and the cost of your products and or service.  You may find that a product may be causing you to loose instead of gain.  This adjustment is definitely key in resetting in 2021.

  6. Creating new/ modified Offerings – Review what promotions, and campaigns you ran last year and evaluate them to see which of them were profitable, which ones were noticed and received prospects verses which ones performed poorly.  Let this assist you in resetting and knowing what to offer this year.

  7. Recalibrate the way you do work – Last year, many were forced to increase online activity due to the restrictions and social distance policy. There are a number of digital and online programs that can assist in this process. No need to feel overwhelmed or left behind, it’s really about finding the right tools that work for you.  Check out our blog on some of our favorite apps and tools, also see 12 Free Online Small Business Resources You Shouldn’t Ignore

  8. Refocus yourself – Last but not least, get refocus, yes through the challenges of 2020, it was easy to loose sight of your original vision.  Take the next couple of weeks in January to really focus and see what you what the rest of 2021 to look like, set goals and put measures in place to maximize the possibility of reaches those goals.  Try setting an annual goal, then monthly and possibly weekly goals that keep you on the path to heading towards the annual goal.
